NICS Domain 1: Social

The domain includes competencies related to social, ethical, legal and human issues, and community linkage.

1.1 Understand and observe legal practices in the use of technology.

1.2 Recognize and practice ethical use of technology in both personal and professional levels.

1.3 Plan, model and promote a safe and sound technology-supported learning environment.

1.4 Facilitate equitable access to technology that addresses learning, social and cultural diversity.

1.2 Teachers as private individuals must become aware of the reality of how ICT is being used by others. For example, it is a known fact that adults engage in cybersex so it is important that teachers possess the appropriate knowledge about these things so they can impart these to students.

1.1 and 1.2 please give the specific legal practices or laws to use the ICT and also the ethical use please thank you. We don't know what are rules and laws on how to use the ICT properly that is why there are plenty of abuses heard and seen in the internet and also may we know who are the governing agencies to implement the rules and laws in ICT and who will initiate the disciplinary measures and what are the penalty.

access to technology is easy but the moral issue and social issue regarding to technology is a bit different...it is our duty as teacher to tell them how to use technology based on social norms and standards.
